The product is designed to work within a particular ambient temperature range, as specified in the product specification section of this guide. Keep the product away from heat sources which could raise the local temperature around the product to above its design operating ambient temperature.Reliability

To mitigate the risk of electrical interference to the product which may result in it not working as intended please keep other electronic devices with radio transmitters, or appliances with motors, fans etc away from the product. Getting Started
You will require a MIHO001 Gateway to remotely control your MIHO002 Adapters. Alternatively an MIHO003 Hand Held remote can The MIHO001 Gateway must first be added to your account before you can add any MIHO002 adapters to your account. You can pair your MIHO002 Adapters to your MIHO001 Gateway using either the MiHome App or the MiHome Web Portal (https://mihome4u.co.uk). The MIHO002 Adapters should be paired individually.
Set Up & Control using the MiHome App
Pairing the Adapter to your MiHome Gateway
Step 1
Plug the adapter into a live socket and ensure you are able to turn the adaoter On and Off using the function button on the front of the adapter.
Step 2
Log into your MiHome account, open the app menu and select Add a new device.
Step 3
Select the Adapter Option from the list of devices shown. This will open a list of all non-WiFi Adapters.
Step 4
Select the Adapter from the list of 4 available devices.
Step 5
Select the Gateway you want to pair the eTRV to. If you have more than 1 Gateway installed, each will show in this screen. Select the to confirm the selection.
Ensure the indicator LED is slowly flashing. If it does not, press and hold the function button for 4 seconds.
Step 7
Select OK, DONE button on the app.
Step 8
Wait until the indicator LED flashes rapidly 5 times and then stops flashing.
Step 9
If the flashing stops, select YES to proceed. If the flashing continues for more than 20 seconds select NO to open the troubleshooting guide for the MIHO002.
Step 10
Enter a name for your device and select the at the top right to confirm the name.
Step 11
Select Go To Dashboard to start controlling your new device, or alternatively, select Add a New Device to pair another device.
Operating your Adapter
Navigating the Dashboard
The dashboard is the place from where you operate your MiHome products when using the app. A description of each of the areas is given below.
Switching Device ON and OFF using the soft buttons
To switch your device on and off tap the teardrop buttons which are next to the product name. Each time you turn the device on and off the group OFF and ON buttons will mirror the behaviour of the device buttons. Once the command has been completed, the Soft button pressed will again grey out as shown in the diagrams below.

Device Menu
The Adapters have the following options to choose from, which are explained in detail in the next sections of this guide.
- Add/Remove from the favourites tab
- Set timers (programs) for switching the device on and off
- Setting triggers (only applicable if you have devices from the MiHome sensors range)
- Name/change name for your device
- Setup Geofencing (your smart plug can be activated according to the location of your phone)
- Notify me when switching (applicable if multiple users use the same account)
To add or remove a device from the favourites tab of the dashboard simply tap on the heart icon next to Favourite.
Timers (programs for switching)
Step 1
Tap on the Timers option from the device menu.
Step 2
Select the times of the day, and the days of the week that you want your device to turn on and off, and then tap the at the top right of the screen.
The timers will be displayed on the next screen.
To add another timer tap the symbol at the top right of the screen.
To edit a timer tap the pink teardrop then the timers you want to change.
Save each change by tapping the before moving to the next.
To return to the device menu tap the arrow on the top left of the screen.
When you return to the Device menu you will see the number of ON and OFF timers that have been set.
Deleting Timers
The steps to delete a trigger are different depending on whether using Android or iPhone as follows.
iOS: Hold and slide the timer tile to the left.
Repeat for all Timers you want to remove.
Android: Tap and hold the timer that you wish to remove until the bin symbol appears top right of the screen, then tap on the bin symbol.
Repeat for all Timers you want to remove.
Triggers
This section is applicable to MiHome accounts with Heating controls, energy measurement products or sensors installed.
Your MiHome device supports the use of Triggers which allows the device to be activated to perform an action based on reports provided by other MiHome sensors or monitor devices.
For example if you have a MiHome Smart Motion Sensor in a hallway which senses motion you can use triggers to turn on a lamp which is plugged into the Adapter.
To set a trigger you need to:
- Choose an action to be performed,
- Choose a device which will activate the trigger
- Choose an event which will cause the trigger to be activated
These steps are explained in detail below.
Step 1 - Select Triggers from the device menu.
You will be provided with the 3 tiles for creating the first trigger.
Step 2 - Set the action to occur
Tap tile 1 to view available actions.
The device can be triggered to complete the following 3 actions:
- Turn On,
- Turn Off,
- Turn On for a specified amount of time and then turn Off.
Scroll/drag your finger down/up on the list of options until you find the desired action.
Note: The upper limit for the time for the On then power Off option is 360 minutes.
Step 3 - Select the triggering device
Tap tile 2 to select the device that will cause the trigger. This can be any of the Monitor or Monitor and Control products from the MiHome range. Any paired devices that can be used will be shown by name when this tile is selected.
Scroll/drag your finger down/up on the list of options until you find the desired triggering device.
Step 4 - Select the triggering event
Tap tile 3 to select the event that will activate the trigger. The options will vary based on the type of device that will be used to activate the trigger.

MIHO032 PIR Sensor
The event options to activate the trigger are:
- Detects Motion
- Detects no more Motion.
MIHO033 Open/Close Sensor
The event options to activate the trigger are:
- Sensor Open
- Sensor Closed
Energy Monitoring Devices
The event options to activate the trigger are:
- Energy Usage Fall Below
- Energy Usage Rise above
Note: The Current Usage can be set between 0 W and 7200 W
Temperature Control Devices
The event options to activate the trigger are:
- Temperature Fall Below
- Temperature Rise above
Note: Target Temperature can be set between 12 oC to 30 oC
Once happy with the trigger rule, select the to save and confirm
Creating additional Triggers
Additional trigger rules can be created by tapping the and repeating the steps above.
Any number of trigger rules can be set for a device. In this way.
Editing Trigger
Tap the pink teardrop next to the trigger you wish to edit. You can now change any of the settings by tapping on the different tiles to make your changes.
Remember to tap the to save each edit.
Deleting Triggers
The steps to delete a trigger are different depending on whether using Android or iPhone as follows.
iOS: Hold and slide the trigger rule tile to the left.
Repeat step 3 for all Trigger rules you want to remove.
Android: Tap and hold the trigger that you wish to remove until the bin symbol appears top right of the screen, then tap on the bin symbol.
Repeat for all rules you wish to delete.
Rename your Device
To rename any device, open the device’s options menu and tap on the tile which displays the name of the device. You can then change the name in the next screen.
Geofencing
Your Energenie MiHome product can be triggered to perform an action using the location of your mobile phone by using a feature called Geofencing. This feature allows you to set distances from your home (centre point) at which you wish your device to perform an action. E.g. switch off your MiHome product when you leave or return home.
The Geofencing feature works in conjunction with the Location Service of your mobile device and will require that the service is active on your phone or tablet.
Step 1 - Select Geofencing option from the device menu.
You will be provided with a brief explanation of what can be done via a single screen. This screen will not display again with other devices once you complete the setup process. Select OK, got it to continue.
Step 2 - Set your Home Location
The first time you access the Geofencing option, you set up the basic Geofencing rule assigning a 'Home' location which will apply to all devices on your account.
The app will record your phone's geographical location as a centre point from which to base your proximity alerts. If you are happy that you are in the correct location to assign as home, select Activate to continue.
Step 3 - Set a New Trigger
Once you have set your home location you will be taken to the Set New Trigger page. You can trigger your device at a distance relative to your home.
Select the pink teardrop next to ‘leaving’ or 'returning’ options to begin making a trigger rule. You can also select the arrow at the top left of the screen to return to the device menu page if you want to setup the trigger later.
Set a distance away from your home (in feet, meters, kilometres, miles) that you want the action to occur, followed by the action (e.g. turn device on or off). The action that will occur is chosen by selecting the On/Off teardrop button as shown in the image below.
Select the tick at the top right of the screen to accept and create the new trigger rule, then repeat for the return trigger.
Creating additional Geofencing Triggers
To create a new rule, select the symbol at the top right of the screen and set the details for the new trigger as above.
Modifying and deactivating Geofencing Triggers
Tap on teardrop next to the trigger tile you wish to edit. This will open the rules set for the trigger and you can edit the details as outlined above.
The trigger can also be turned on or off by tapping the green teardrop which will change it Off. Turning the trigger off disables the rule but leaves it available so that it can be turned on again later.
Deleting Geofencing Triggers
If you wish to delete Geofencing rules the process differs between Android and iOS as follows.
iOS
Drag the tile of the Geofencing trigger to the left of the screen to delete the Geofencing rule.
Android
Press and hold your finger on the Geofencing trigger tile until the bin symbol appears at the top right of the screen, then tap the bin icon to delete the trigger.
Group creation and control
All devices paired to your MiHome account are assigned to the My Devices Group by default which provides convenient group control of all paired switchable devices (e.g. adapters and light switches), so that you can switch them on and off with one command.
You may wish to create additional, smaller, groups to provide more control over specific types of devices, or by particular areas, such as all light switches in your house, or all adapters or all Smart Radiator Valves in a room etc.
Creating a new group
Step 1
Open the app’s main menu by tapping the three horizontal bars at the top left of the dashboard.
Step 2
Select Manage groups from the menu.
Step 3
Select the symbol at the top right of the screen.
Step 4
Enter a name for the Group you are creating. Select the tick symbol at the top right of the screen to confirm.
Step 5
Select each device you wish to add to the group by selecting the symbol beside the name of the device. Once selected a tick will replace the symbol. When you have selected all devices to be added to the group, select the tick
symbol at the top right of the screen to confirm your selection.
Step 6
Select either RETURN TO DASHBOARD or ADD ANOTHER GROUP to continue.
Group Operation
Once a group has been created, it will appear on the dashboard below the MY DEVICES GROUP. Four purple squares on the left side of the tile distinguish the group from single products.
On the right of the tile you find the teardrop ON and OFF buttons.
NOTES: Group triggers can only trigger devices that switch.
Set Up & Control using the MiHome Web Portal
Pairing the Adapter to your MiHome Gateway
Step 1
Go to the MiHome Web portal (https://mihome4u.co.uk).
Step 2
Select the Login tab and enter your login Email address and Password.
Step 3
Once signed in, go to My Devices and select Pair New Device from the gateway dashboard.
Step 4
A new window will open showing images of each product that can be paired. Select the Adapter from the devices available and confirm by selecting the Pair Device button.
Step 5
A small pop-up window will appear which provides instructions to be followed.
Select the Start Pairing button on screen, then press and hold the grey button on the Adapter for 5 seconds until the LED above the button starts to blink. Successful pairing will be indicated by the LED making a rapid burst of flashes then it will go out.
Step 6
To give the Adapter a unique identifying name, select Manage on the device tile.
Step 7
Enter a new name in the Device Name box and confirm the new name by selecting the Update Device button.
Note: do not remove the tick mark from the Groups section
At this point your Adapter is paired to your MiHome account and ready to use.
Web Portal Control
Dashboard layout description
Each device tile provides information and control options specific to that device.
Setting Timers
Three timers can be created for each Adapter. To set timers:
Step 1
Select the SET button.
Step 2
Select the days or All Days for your timer(s).
Step 3
Set the from and until times for the timers using the drop down windows.
Group Creation and Control
Using the Web Portal, you will be able to create groups of eTRVs and set group target temperatures which will update all eTRVs that are part of the group at the same time.
Creating a new group
Step 1
Select the Groups tab from the top of the page.
Step 2
Select the Create new group option below the group tiles to create a group. A new window will open.
Step 3
Name the group and confirm by selecting the Create Device Group button. You will be returned to the Groups tab.
Adding devices to the new Group
Step 1
Select My Devices at the top of the page to return to the dashboard.
Step 2
Select Manage from the device tile of an eTRV that you want to add to the group. This will open a new page containing details of the device selected.
Under the Groups section, select one or more tick box next to the groups you wish the eTRV to be part of.
Select the Update Subdevice button, which adds the eTRV to the group.
You will be returned to the My Devices tab.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 with each device you want added to the group.
Using a Handheld Remote (MIHO003)
The Adapter can be controlled using a hand-held remote control. You will need to pair the hand held remote to the adapter to be able to use the remote to turn the adapter on.
Pairing the hand held remote
Step 1
Press and hold the function button on the adapter for 4 seconds (until the indicator LED is flashing slowly).
Step 2
Choose a channel on the handheld remote (1-4) and press and hold the ON button for this channel. The indicator LED on the adapter should blink rapidly and then stop flashing.
Operation
The adapter can be turned on and off by pressing the ON and OFF buttons for the channel you have selected for the adapter on the hand held remote.
Voice Control
The Adapter can be controlled by voice if you have an Amazon Echo or Google Home device. For more information on setting up voice control please check out our guides which can be found here:

Unpairing your MIHO002 Smart Adapter
Using the MiHome App
If you wish to un-pair your MiHome device, for example to move it to a new account, select the DEVICES tab then follow the steps below for the relevant phone type:
iOS
Tap and drag the device tile to the left then tap on Delete.
Android
Tap and hold the device tile and then tap the bin symbol which appears in the top right of the screen.
After un-pairing, please follow the factory reset procedure outlined below.
Using the MiHome Web Portal
If you wish to un-pair your MiHome device, for example to move it to a new account, select the My Devices tab then follow the steps below:
Step 1
Select the x Unpair option on the device tile of the device you want to remove
Step 2
A pop-up window will appear. To confirm the device should be removed, select OK.
un-pairing, please follow the factory reset procedure outlined below.
Factory reset procedure for the MIHO002 Smart Adapter Plug
WARNING: Factory reset will delete all network information saved on the plug.
If the Smart Adapter appears in your list of paired devices, please refer to the un-pairing section above to un-pair it
Step 1
Ensure power is available to socket and switched on (if switched socket)
Step 2
Ensure Smart adapter is switched off (if unsure the plug is off, plug in a lamp)
Step 3
Press and hold the button on the plug for 8 seconds (the status LED will blink slowly after 4 seconds and will then blink rapidly after 8 seconds indicating that the Adapter has been reset and is ready to re-pair.
