Geofencing
Your Energenie MiHome product can be triggered to perform an action using the location of your mobile phone by using a feature called Geofencing. This feature allows you to set distances from your home (centre point) at which you wish your device to perform an action. E.g. switch off your MiHome product when you leave or return home.
The Geofencing feature works in conjunction with the Location Service of your mobile device and will require that the service is active on your phone or tablet.
Step 1 - Select Geofencing option from the device menu.
You will be provided with a brief explanation of what can be done via a single slide. This slide will not display again with other devices once you complete the setup process. Select OK, got it to continue.
Step 2 - Set your Home Location
The first time you access the Geofencing option, you set up the basic Geofencing rule assigning a 'Home' location which will apply to all devices on your account.
The app will record your phone's geographical location as a centre point from which to base your proximity alerts. If you are happy that you are in the correct location to assign as home, select Activate to continue.
Step 3 - Set a New Trigger
Once you have set your home location you will be taken to the Set New Trigger page. You can trigger your device at a distance relative to your home.
Select the pink teardrop next to ‘leaving’ or 'returning’ options to begin making a trigger rule. You can also select the arrow at the top left of the screen to return to the device menu page if you want to setup the trigger later.
Set a distance away from your home (in feet, meters, kilometres, miles) that you want the action to occur, followed by the action (e.g. turn device on or off). The action that will occur is chosen by selecting the On/Off teardrop button as shown in the image below.
Select the tick at the top right of the screen to accept and create the new trigger rule, then repeat for the return trigger.
Creating additional Geofencing Triggers
To create a new rule, select the symbol at the top right of the screen and set the details for the new trigger as above.
Modifying and deactivating Geofencing Triggers
Tap on teardrop next to the trigger tile you wish to edit. This will open the rules set for the trigger and you can edit the details as outlined above.
The trigger can also be turned on or off by tapping the green teardrop which will change it Off. Turning the trigger off disables the rule but leaves it available so that it can be turned on again later.
Deleting Geofencing Triggers
If you wish to delete Geofencing rules the process differs between Android and iOS as follows.
iOS
Drag the tile of the Geofencing trigger to the left of the screen to delete the Geofencing rule.
Android
Press and hold your finger on the Geofencing trigger tile until the bin symbol appears at the top right of the screen, then tap the bin icon to delete the trigger.
Group creation and control
All devices paired to your MiHome account are assigned to the My Devices Group by default which provides convenient group control of all paired switchable devices (e.g. adapters and light switches), so that you can switch them on and off with one command.
You may wish to create additional, smaller, groups to provide more control over specific types of devices, or by particular areas, such as all light switches in your house, or all adapters or all Smart Radiator Valves in a room etc.
Creating a new group

Open the app’s main menu by tapping the three horizontal bars at the top left of the dashboard.
Step 2

Step 6
Select either RETURN TO DASHBOARD or ADD ANOTHER GROUP to continue.
Group Operation
Once a group has been created, it will appear on the dashboard below the MY DEVICES GROUP. Four purple squares on the left side of the tile distinguish the group from single products.
