Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Energenie Power Meter.
This manual will take you through product set-up, operation and key features as well as providing troubleshooting tips.

Key Features
The Power Meter Plug has the following key features:
2x LR44 Replaceable batteries
Battery backup allowing the retention of readings if there is a power cut
Measure the energy use and cost of running household appliances
Measure the carbon footprint of houshold appliances
Display the running time of connected devices

Introduction
If you do not install and use in accordance with this guide (or the quick start guide) the warranty will be invalidated and Sandal Plc will not be liable for any damage or loss whatsoever, including indirect loss, damage to property or personal injury.
Please also do not leave packaging material lying around as children may be tempted to play with it, which could be dangerous.
Environment
This product is intended for domestic, commercial and light industrial use only and must only be used in dry areas indoors, and protected from moisture and water ingress. Please also see the product specification section in this guide for additional environmental considerations.
Overloading & Compatible appliances
The product is rated at 13 Amps/3120 Watts and care must be taken not to overload the product, which may cause the product to overheat and become damaged. It is also not advisable to power an appliance from the product for long periods of time if that appliance is operating at, or close to the maximum rating of the product, otherwise the life expectancy of the product may be shortened.

Please only connect appliances which are CE or UKCA marked to the product. This will ensure a higher degree of safety and electrical compatibility between the product and the connected appliances.
Nearby heat sources
The product is designed to work within a particular ambient temperature range, as specified in the product specification section of this guide. Keep the product away from heat sources which could raise the local temperature around the product to above its design operating ambient temperature.
Disassembling the product
Do not disassemble the product as it does not contain any parts that can be serviced. If it arrives faulty or develops a fault while within warranty please return the product to where it was purchased from.

Getting Started
Prepare the Power Meter for use
Remove the plastic tag from the battery cover on the back of the unit
Display
Buttons
HISTORY
Pressing the History button will cause the display row to cycle throughvalues of Consumption » KWH (unit of electricity) Daily, Weekly & Monthly.
ENERGY/+
Pressing the Energy button will cause the display row to cycle through instantaneous values of Voltage » Current in Amps » Power in Watt » frequency »Power Factor. While modifying settings, this button will decrease the value.
COST/-
Pressing the Cost button repeatedly will show Power in Watts at the top line of the display. At the second line, it shows: Total Cost » Tarrif or Electrical rate » Multi Tarri information (advanced feature) » Carbon dioxide information » Time Elapsed » Total KWH used. While modifying settings, this button will decrease the
value.
SET/OK
This button can be used tobegin a setup option and conrm setup when
completed.
RESET
The unit can be reset using a pointed implement to press the reset button.
This will clear all accumulated data and return the unit to its factory settings.
Setting the Clock
-
Press the COST/- button repeatedly until you see the Time screen.
-
Press and hold the SET/OK button for 3 seconds.
The time symbol will flash. -
Use the HISTORY button to cycle through digits.
-
Press the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digits (0-9).
-
Press the SET/OK button to finish the setting procedure.
If no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds before the SET/OK button is pressed, setup will end and the old setting will be reverted to.
Setting Single Rate Tariff
-
Press the COST/- button several times, until the Tariff screen is displayed
- Press and hold the SET/OK button for 3 seconds until the “TARIFF 1” symbol flashes
-
Press HISTORY to confirm selection.
4 numbers will be displayed with the left most digit flashing -
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit (0-9)
-
Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Once you have completed setting the tariff, press SET/OK button to finish the setup.
If no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds before the SET/OK button is pressed, setup will end and the old setting will be reverted to.
Setting Dual Rate Tariff
-
Press the COST/- button to see the Time screen.
-
Press and hold the SET/OK button for 3 seconds.
The time symbol will flash. -
Press the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle between “TARIFF 1” and “DUAL TARIFF”

When “DUAL TARIFF” is flashing, select the option by pressing HISTORY
”TARIFF 1” will appear and 4 numbers will be displayed with the left most digit flashing

Set the fist tariff value
-
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit (0-9)
-
Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the fist tariff
4 digits will appear with a clock symbol next to it. This will allow you to set the start time for the first tariff -
Set the first tariff start time (Hours and then minutes)
-
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit
-
Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the start time for the first tariff
”TARIFF 2” will appear and 4 numbers will be displayed with the left most digit flashing -
Set the second tariff value
-
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit (0-9)
-
Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the second tariff
4 digits will appear with a clock symbol next to it. This will allow you to set the start time for the second tariff -
Set the second tariff start time
-
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit
-
Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the start time for the second tariff
If no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds before the SET/OK button is pressed, setup will end and the old setting will be reverted to.
(OPTIONAL) Setting the Overload Power Alert
The default factory setting is 3120W. This is set for the max load of UK fused plugs (13 Amps)

Press the ENERGY/+ button to cycle to the “OVERLOAD” screen.
-
Press and hold the ENERGY/+ button for 3 seconds
The “OVERLOAD” symbol will remain displayed, along with 4 digits. The first digit will begin to flash. -
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit (0-9)

Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the second tariff
If no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds before the SET/OK button is pressed, setup will end and the old setting will be reverted to.
(OPTIONAL) Setting the KgCO2 Alert

Press the ENERGY/+ button to cycle to the “KgCO2” screen.

Press and hold the ENERGY/+ button for 3 seconds
The “KgCO2” symbol will remain displaye,d along with 4 digits. The first digit will begin to flash. -
Use the ENERGY/+ or COST/- button to cycle through the value of the digit (0-9)

Use the HISTORY button to change to the next digit. Adjust all digits until happy with the values set.

Press SET/OK to confirm the second tariff
If no buttons are pressed for 10 seconds before the SET/OK button is pressed, setup will end and the old setting will be reverted to.
Using the Power Meter
Clock and Electric Display
With the power on, the LCD displays the clock in the second rank .
You can change between 24 hour clock and 12 hour clock. To switch between the two, press both the HISTORY and ENERGY/+ buttons together for more than 3 seconds.
History Bar Graph
The bar graph provides details for the past 7 days/weeks/months of consumption.
Press the HISTORY button to change the resolution.

By default, the bar graph displays output as 1bar=1KWH. If real power consuption is loo large to be displayed at this resolution, this will change on the display with valvue ont he display being shown. The different values per bar are:
Resetting the Power Meter
Clearing Totals
To fast clear and delete existing data, but retain all settings for the tariff and time

Press ENERGY/+ and COST/- together for 3 seconds, until the screen is flashing

Press SET/OK for 3 seconds to confirm.
If no buttons are pressed for 10 second before the SET/OK button is pressed, the reset will be cancelled
Full Reset
To fully reset all values for tariff and time, as well as deleting all cumulative data

Press the small RESET button between the ENERGY/+ and COST/- buttons
Once pressed all segments of the display will light up before clearing. At this point, the Power Meter has been restpred to factory default
Disposal
The crossed out wheel bin symbol which is marked on your product indicates that the product must not be disposed of with regular household waste, but must be disposed of at your local recycling centre.
